Anyone who has ever visited Brighton will tell you just how great it is for shopping. Under the district pages Ive detailed some of the best supermarkets and the closet food places to provision your stay – but what about the real shopping? Retail therapy at it’s best? Brighton certainly has that avenue well and truly sown up!
Brighton prides itself on offering all the best High Street names, such as Debenhams, Marks and Spencers, a huge Primark stretching over three floors, H&M, HMV and Borders amongst all the other standard names you would expect of any UK city these days.
Generally if this is the type of shopping then you are best to focus your time around the Churchill Shopping complex – which offers a range of refreshment opportunites to keep the shopping well fuelled!
The North Laines
But if you’re looking to venture out into the truly unique shopping world of Brighton then a trip around the North Laines never disappoints! Its the perfect area for browsing for a unique gift, some original jewellery or scarf, an usual piece of art work or sculpture – plus literally thousands of handmade and individual items that ensure you give a specail gift everytime. The North Laines really is the enclave for the most bohemian of the Brighton and Hove styles, so if youre looking for second hand jack-boots or a hand printed silk scarf for a formal event then this is the palce to find it!
The North Laines also benefits from a range of excellent eateries, including Bills, at the lower end of North Road, which offers a range of good value and organic food opps – as well as The Dorset, also on North Road, which provides a great pub style lunch and the beer and wine to accompany it!
