Brighton Excels in Body and Spirit Opportunities for Personal Care and Development
Gyms
Brighton and Hove has the usual standard gyms that exist in every other city in the UK so if you have multi-gym membership then its easy to continue with your usual gym timetable with the additional novelty of varied environments! But Brighton also has a couple of its own city council gyms and sports complexes which offer really good vlaue without having to commit to long term memberships – the King Alfred and the Price Regents Complex really stand out for this – so check out their websites for opening hours and tariffs.

Yoga
Some of the individual gyms detailed above also do yoga classes so if you’re a member check out their timetable and use your existing memberships to benefit from free classes. If you are looking for one off classes during your stay then explore the classes detailed below. Particular personal recommendations include the beautiful meditation room at the Buddhist Centre, and youll find that the attendees of the Brighton Natural Health Centre really commend the centre for its friendliness and accessibility of its classes – so maybe a good one to try if you are looking to test the waters for the first time!

Meditation
You’d expect a ‘together’ place like Brighton and Hove to have a wealth of Meditation classes and groups, and the city doesn’t disappoint. A personal favourite is the Buddhist Centre on Tichborne Street in the North Laines. For those of you who just want to try a one off sampler then the 11am drop in session on a saturday morning is highly recommended. They do classes on other evenings of the week too so check out their website for more details. Tapping into some world renowned teachers skills, the Shambhala Centre, meeting at the Yoga Haven Centre on Brunswick Street East offers excellent meditation classes with teachings and guidance on how to lead a more balanced and rewarding life!
